Voltara PCBWIRE is a printed circuit board designed to be installed on a quadcopter arm, replacing the traditional three motor wires. It offers two key benefits: protection from propeller strikes and easier motor replacement.
Specifications:
- Dimensions: 9.5mm x 35mm, 1mm Thickness
- Structure: 4 layers of thick copper (minimizing heat buildup)
- Finish: Gold-plated PCB
- Quality: High-quality materials and construction
Installation:
Voltara PCBWIRE comes as a set of four boards, connected together on a single PCB. This is standard in PCB manufacturing and uses a technique called V-scoring, which creates breakable tabs between each board. To separate them, simply snap each board along the V-scored lines. After breaking them apart, you may notice fine fiberglass strands at the edges. While you can lightly smooth these with an X-acto knife or small file for a cleaner look, this step is optional.
For installation on the quadcopter arm, it is essential to isolate the PCBWIRE from the carbon fiber. The best approach is to use a thin layer of double-sided tape applied to the back of the PCBWIRE, which you can then press onto the arm for a secure fit. Once attached, solder your motor wires to the PCBWIRE, and your installation is complete.
